Mary Erickson captures nature’s shifting moods and panoramic colors with stunning accuracy and detail. Her beach scenes and landscapes personify inner strength, beauty and sensitivity evoked from nature. Her wildlife and floral paintings invite you to reach out and experience the delicate softness of a feather, or the ragged edge of a leaf.
Mainly self-taught, Mary has always been an artist. She sold her first painting to Gulf& Western industries in Stamford, Connecticut at 13. Her move to Florida stirred the desire to pursue art as a career. In 1993 Mary realized a long held dream, and began painting professionally. She now maintains studios in both Florida and North Carolina.

Preferring to work on location, Mary Erickson continues to seek new opportunities to capture moments in time and place on canvas. Plein air painting tours have taken her across the United States, into South America and most recently, to Europe. Mary is a founding member of Southern Plein Air Artists (SPAA), a member of the Group of Eight, and the Oil Painters of America. Her works appear in numerous private, corporate and museum collections in the United States and Europe.
