Robert Kline Biography
A self-taught artist of eleven years, Robert Kline is enjoying a life cycle which to date includes 20 years of being taught, 10 years of teaching, 15 years in finance, and four important novels. He attributes none of his artistic prowess to great thoughts or an ambition to “lasso light”. At best it is a confluence of quiet visceral or sternum thumping experiences: the barely contained raucous might of a P-51; the magnificent marriage of mass and texture molding the shifting, curving landscape of a woman’s body; the lumbering beauty of a C-47; the sexual grace of a John Alden cutter—62 feet of 60 year old magic slicing through Atlantic swells; a tropical downpour on large wet leaves; good music; loud music; cold gin in thin glass.
